Host a Holiday Food & Fund Drive!

The holidays are a busy and exciting time at the Food Bank. We have updated our guidelines to best utilize our limited resources and make this your most successful holiday food and fund drive yet!

PLANNING YOUR DRIVE:

When and where will you collect food and funds?

Choose the dates for your drive and register here.

Want to donate more meals with less heavy lifting? Consider holding a virtual food drive! For every dollar donated to the Food Bank, we can provide 5 meals. A virtual food drive is a fantastic way to include coworkers, friends and family who may not be able to contribute to a traditional food drive!

What supplies will you need?

Utilize these helpful materials including our Most Needed Items, a Donation Sign and our Food Drive Toolkit!

You are welcome to collect your donations in any type of box or container. The Food Bank can provide up to 6 donation boxes per food drive.  These can be picked up at any of our branches without an appointment; come on by during our normal business hours! Each donation box holds approximately 100 items.

How will you transport your donations to the Food Bank?

Because of our limited resources and tight trucking schedule, we ask that you make every effort to drop off your donations. Talk to friends and coworkers who have trucks or large vehicles! Consider making multiple drop-offs throughout your drive – we can keep track of the total weight of your donations! Plan a caravan with your fellow donors and stay for a photo op to share on social media! We are thankful for your efforts to keep our trucks on schedule.

Let us know you’re coming! If you have a planned date and time to drop off your food drive, please email Liz Moss ahead of time so we can make sure to have staff and volunteers on hand to unload and weigh your donations.

During the months of November and December, we can pick up donations of 1000 pounds or more. For reference, that’s about 1,000 cans! Pickup requests must be made at least two weeks prior to the desired pickup date by contacting Liz Moss, Food and Fund Drive Officer, at emoss@foodbankcenc.org.

AFTER YOUR DRIVE:

Where will you bring your donations?

Each of the 6 branches of the Food Bank are open Monday-Friday to receive food and fund donations. Branch directions and hours can be found here.

All branches of the Food Bank will be closed on the following days:

November 27th (please plan to arrive by 11:30am with donations)

November 28th-29th

December 24th-25th

How will you know how many meals you were able to provide?

When you drop off your food and fund donations, we will have staff and volunteers on hand to help you unload, weigh the food, calculate any funds donated, and provide you with a total meal count and a receipt. We’re happy to take photos too!

Lastly, before, during and after your drive, tag us in your social media posts! You can find us at @FoodBankCENC and use the hashtag #NoOneGoesHungry – we want to see your amazing efforts and celebrate with you!
